Uber & Girlboss | Startup Studio

Situation

In 2017 only 2% of VC dollars went to female entrepreneurs, forcing women to take the unconventional route to success. With Uber’s mission to help drive people toward opportunity, Uber wanted to address this harsh reality with a unique experiential activation that would create meaningful impact.

Solution

To help close the distance between ambition and reality, we worked with Uber and Girlboss to launch a series of digital and IRL resources tailored to up-and-coming female entrepreneurs. The resources culminated into a national pitch competition that granted over $200K in funding and life-long mentorship to three big ideas. Drawing over 2,500 applications and national attention from press, the program culminated into a 3-day pop-in at the Girlboss Rally.

We helped strategize and program the Start-up Studio designed to be an intimate workshop venue to hold live pitches and talks during the Rally. Throughout the weekend the studio hosted a series of panels from celebrity entrepreneurs, authors and advisors earning recognition from attendees as the most valuable experience at the Rally.
